“Color Cosmetics are Cheating!”
Under this headline, Deanna
Ultroske, quotes scientist Yulia Park in online journal Cosmetics Design.com: “Consumers
think applying color cosmetics is cheating”. Yulia Park was addressing the
annual gathering of Society of Cosmetic Chemists in New York.
As a matter of fact, we are
witnessing very aggressive marketing by prominent brands where consumers are promised
all kinds of lofty results – mostly unverifiable claims – which tend to unduly influence
choice of the consumers. Such brand
companies have, therefore, come under harsh scrutiny of FDA over such marketing
claims made on the basis of new chemical formulations.
On the other hand, the concept of
beauty and how to enhance and maintain is different in natural organic systems.
The organic beauty formulations contain ingredients that nourish the skin and
ensure its optimum physiological functions. The herbs give overall support to
the skin by enhancing collagen synthesis.
There are powerful plants, extracts
of which have the ability to enhance the radiance or bright complexion. These
help coalesce discontinued tissue, thereby healing and strengthening the
regenerative functions of skin, which is important for repairing aging effects.
The herbs and natural ingredients
support moisture balance and provide overall nourishment to the skin. Essential
Oils like Pink Grapefruit, Lavendula, Tea Tree and others act as effective
carrier of the tiny molecules of ingredients into the pores, besides creating very
soothing and relaxing aromatic effect.
Organic ingredients are also good
natural sources of Vitamins A, C and E. These help in protecting skin against
allergens, inflammatory substances, chemicals and even stress. Many factors in
external environment can cause inflammation or breakouts which can speed up
aging process. Inflammatory mediators such as leukotrienes and prostaglandins,
cytokines and growth factors target skin texture, integrity and tone.
Against the backdrop of
chemical-based beauty solutions, one will find many beneficial natural beauty formulations
which focus on root causes, instead of creating a chemical layer over skin with
potential harm in the long run.
