The Canadian Medical Association
Journal has come down heavily on artificial scents in hospitals. It has recommended
that “hospital environments be free from artificial scents as a uniform policy”.
It further points out that cigarette, smoke, perfume and other strong odors can
irritate, and trigger inflammation, and thus chemicals in perfumes and other
fragranced products have been found to cause health problems.
This is not surprising
to those who have been using natural ingredients in skin care formulations to
create calming and soothing feelings. At Herbally Radiant we receive many
customers, including children with allergy problems which get highly aggravated
due to association with chemical-based smells or fragrances. On the other hand,
the natural fragrance does not create health problem, and, on the other hand,
creates a feeling of overall relaxation and feeling.
To overcome allergies arising out of artificial
perfumes, Herbally Radiant uses Essential Oils (EOs) in its products. Derived
from flowers, plants, resins and roots, EOs are the basic life force of flowers
and plants. They work in most skin-friendly way in helping increase circulation
and promote new cell growth, while eliminating toxins. EOs are, therefore,
historically well known to create positive powerful effect of aromatherapy.Aromatherapy is not a curative process by itself, but it is very useful in symptom control in the case of physical conditions and is very effective in helping to manage emotional conditions. Besides topical application of EOs as in beauty products, EOs are more effective in aroma therapy when inhaled directly or through diffuser. Personal inhalers can be used anywhere conveniently.
There are dozens of EOs that have been used for centuries to deal with health problems. EOs consist of tiny aromatic molecules that are readily absorbed by the body penetrate skin by inhalation with effect. Entering through the Cillia (the fine hairs lining the nose) to the limbic system which, when stimulated, releases endorphins, neurotransmitters and other 'feel-good' chemicals.
So, one more reason for going in for natural skin care formulations, instead of pharma-based products which contain chemical fragrances.
