HERBALLY RADIANT WELCOMES FDA MOVE TO BAN HARMFUL INGREDIENTS IN "ANTIBACTERIAL" SOAPS

FDA has rightly ruled that nearly 20 ingredients used in soaps and washes do not provide the claimed anti-bacterial benefits. According to the FDA, consumers might think that anti-bacterial washes are more effective in preventing the spread of germs, for which no scientific evidence has been produced that these are any way better than the plain soap and water. FDA goes on: "In fact some data suggests that anti-bacterial ingredients may do more harm than good in the long term."

EWG has welcomed FDA initiative as "a huge victory on behalf of human health and environment".

Herbally Radiant has been urging removal of many more harsh chemical ingredients from skin care formulations. Ingredients like parabens, used in large number of products, have been found to be harmful ingredients. Parabens are mainly petroleum by-products that act as a thin layer over the skin and are used partly to ensure longer shelf life of the products.  Among other potential harmful ingredients are Sodium Oxichlorosene, SLS, Triclocarbon, Triclosan besides a host of others, that have been found by FDA as of no benefit.
